Thank you for choosing Molding Mud

We take immense pride not only in the quality of our work, but in the experience we provide to our clients. Your satisfaction is important to us, and our team is always available should you have any questions about your new piece.
We hope your custom concrete becomes a lasting and distinctive element of your home or business — one that reflects both beauty and craftsmanship.
Care & Stewardship of Your Concrete
Your piece has been sealed with three coats of our premium topical sealer, designed to enhance depth of color while providing exceptional resistance to everyday staining.
Concrete is a living material — natural, expressive, and uniquely individual. With thoughtful care, it will age gracefully and develop character over time.
Daily Care
For routine cleaning, use:
- A soft cloth with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral dish soap
- A gentle, plant-based cleaner such as Mrs. Meyer’s
- For heavier grease, a non-abrasive cleaner like Simple Green diluted 20-1 (mild alkaline formula)
While the protective sealer is highly resistant, we recommend promptly wiping spills — particularly:
- Highly pigmented substances such as turmeric
- Acidic liquids (lemon juice, vinegar, wine, tomatoes, soda, mustard)
- Harsh chemicals or solvents (ammonia, acetone, hydrogen peroxide, perfumes)
Preserving the Finish
Your concrete surface is exceptionally durable; however, the sealer that protects it requires mindful use.
Avoid Abrasion
Do not use abrasive pads, vinegar, scouring powders, bleach, or harsh chemical cleaners. These can gradually diminish the integrity of the protective finish.
Always choose mild, non-abrasive, non-ammonia, non-acidic, non-bleach cleaners.
Protect from Heat
Concrete is inherently heat resistant, but extreme heat may affect the sealer. Always use a trivet or hot pad beneath cookware.
Use Cutting Boards
Avoid cutting directly on the surface or dragging sharp or heavy objects across it. While the concrete itself is strong, the sealer may scratch.
Restoration & Maintenance
One of the enduring advantages of concrete is its renewability. Chips, minor surface wear, or staining can typically be repaired or refreshed.
